Chris

Chris joined the Aurora Animal Care Center as a veterinary assistant in April of 2019 but has been shadowing Dr. Kartley since she was 15 in the summer of 2010 . She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Minor in Physical Anthropology in 2018.

She is currently a graduate student attending University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine completing her Masters in Comparative Biomedical Sciences with a Veterinary Focus. Chris will be re-applying to veterinary school this upcoming cycle after having transferred from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies in 2022. She holds special interests in Internal Medicine, Endocrine Physiology & Pharmacology, Rehabilitation, and Animal Behavior. Chris also enjoys mentoring other pre-veterinary students since she has had a unique but insightful vet med journey thus far!

Outside the clinic, Chris has a Flat-Coated Retriever Bristle and two tuxedo cats named Nook and Moo Moo (who she brought back with her from St. Kitts) who are great study companions. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, training her cats and dog, and traveling.

Chris is Fear Free Certified.
