We are excited to announce ourselves as the new ownership team of Aurora Animal Care Community. The four of us have worked within the practice for decades, but now look forward to leading our teams and renewing our commitment to the pets and owners and our community as well as our employees. Dr. Imhof mentored our ownership team instilling the importance of progressive compassionate care of patients and their families, as well as development and support of those individuals working for her. Dr. Andy Matlock, Dr. Jennifer Kartley, and Dr. Kim Zalewski started here as support staff before going to veterinary school at The Ohio State University. Lerrissa Schmalzried RVT, CCRP began working in 2005 as an assistant and has since expanded her knowledge base not only obtaining her Registered Veterinary Technician license but also completed the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medicine Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program. In support of our staff, all four individuals also completed the Zoetis PeopleFirst Certification. The information obtained in this collaborative course is vital to advancement of our staff members individually, but also fosters team development resulting in better patient care.
Continuation of locally owned private practice veterinary medicine will be maintained by this transition of ownership. We are dedicated to our communities and have chosen a group name, Aurora Animal Care Community to encompass the care we can provide and highlight this commitment. Through the change we will maintain our three veterinary locations; Aurora Veterinary Clinic, Mantua Veterinary Clinic, and Streetsboro Veterinary Center. Our Aurora Kennel will also continue to board dogs, cats, and small mammals. Aurora K-9 Fit Rehabilitation Services, provided at our Aurora location, will expand to more patients. These services are not just limited to our active patients but we can also extend services to animals referred by their primary veterinarian.
Our new ownership team is thankful for all the opportunities Dr. Imhof has graciously provided to us as we have grown into the strong individuals we are today. In growth of her practice she has served the community in ways that can never be measured. We are proud to follow in her footsteps as we continue her passion to serve those around her.
