Aurora Veterinary Clinic will close at 12pm on Tuesday December 24th. Our Mantua & Streetsboro locations are closed all day Tuesday December 24th. All three clinics will return to normal business hours on Thursday December 26th. Please see our Emergency Services page if your pet experiences an emergency during that time.
When you walk in the door you will be greeted by one of our team members. We work to get you checked in and settled as quickly as possible. If you are more comfortable, contact us from your car and we can assist you straight into an exam room.
One of our Patient Service Team Members will join you in the exam room to discuss your pet's health and purpose of the exam today. We will make a list of questions or concerns as well as confirm previous medical history, the food you are feeding, and medications your pet is currently taking. Even though the medical history will contain all previous medications we have prescribed, confirmation of active at home medication and treatments will influence the care of your pet.
After the history is complete, we will prepare a treatment plan for you. If warranted, the doctor may need to examine the pet prior to making a treatment plan. This will go over the cost of each service to make sure we are working within any budget constraints. We aim to be transparent regarding pricing. You can request an updated treatment plan at any time.
The doctor will examine your pet from tip of the nose to tip of the tail. They will check your pet's heart sounds, their reflexes, pulses, muscle mass, and lymph nodes among others. If there is something the doctor finds on exam, they will communicate it with you and answer any associated questions.
Depending on the visit, we may borrow your pet to perform blood draws, administer treatments, or perform diagnostics. We make sure your pet feels as comfortable as possible while with us. Occasionally pets are examined separate from the owner when a direct line of sight or ability to hear the owner makes a pet struggle to get to them.
Once the visit is complete, you will stay in the room to be checked out. We use Clover wireless point of sale devices at all three locations. We are also happy to assist you in scheduling any future appointments to continue your pet's care. You don't need to wait in any lines in the lobby.
