bRUTUSThe Aurora Kennel & Cat Nap Inn located in Aurora, Ohio is a boarding facility serving dogs, cats, and some pocket pets. Our practice has offered boarding services to the community since 1994. For over 25 years our kennel and Cat Nap Inn were separate stand alone locations located in Aurora and Mantua. In 2019, the Kennel and Cat Nap Inn joined our new Aurora Veterinary Clinic facility. Having a boarding facility owned and operated by a long-standing veterinary practice sets us apart. Not only do we have the education and skill-set to create a place where your pets can thrive while you are away, we also keep them safe and provide medical care if needed.

The Aurora Kennel and Cat Nap Inn have specific requirements and rules set in place to create a standard of care and safety for pets while they are staying with us. Depending on the species, pets must be current on vaccines as well as have stool samples that are negative for intestinal parasites within the last 6 months. First time boarders are required to complete a free day trial prior to any scheduled stays. This helps us determine if we are a right fit for your pet. We pride ourselves on creating individual care plans to make sure your pet's stay is comfortable, safe, and mentally stimulating. The trial allows us this insight.

doggoSeparate dog and cat wards allow customization for your pet. Facing a multitude of windows with natural light, our cat ward has many bird feeders outside for daily enrichment as well as maintaining their circadian rhythm. A dedicated cat play area is also available based on your cat's needs. Our dog ward is tailored for canines of many sizes and can accommodate families of pets so they are able to stay together. We use ambient lighting to mimic the current outside natural light patterns so visiting dogs can maintain their normal circadian rhythm too. Calming pheromones, music, and optional individual play time create an environment where your dog can feel safe and secure until your return. Attachment to our veterinary facility allows owners peace of mind if a medical concern arises. Our kennel staff has immediate access to doctors and trained clinic staff during normal hospital hours but also a doctor is on call for after hours, weekend, and holiday concerns.

Although we can accommodate over 40 dogs and 10 cats at a time, reservations can be booked out several months in advance. Popular times are not only limited to normal holidays but also mimic school and break schedules. It is never too early to make a reservation. This will allow our staff to set up the necessary day trial if needed and review records to tailor your pet's accommodations. If our dedicated kennel staff isn't able to pick up the phone when you call in, just leave a message for them to call you back or email inquiries and questions to: [email protected]
